Structured Systematic Plan or a Daily To-Do-List

Well no matter what you call it the fancy Structured Systematic Plan or a simple Daily To-Do-List, if you want your business to get ahead you are going to need one. This is a list of items that need to be done daily to keep your business running.

Most of my lists, as with most people, are in my head. We know what needs to be done everyday and it just becomes ingrained as a repetitive activity that you do because it is what you do. Now what happens when you need to start a new component of your business or worse you need to add a step to your daily activities? How can you remember to do that step or activity? I prefer a list, a Structured Systematic Plan (SSP) – this helps me to stay focused, helps me to stay on task, and helps keep me organized (which all means I don’t forget to do what I need to do to keep my business running). I have several of these SSPs for several different aspects of my business, not only do they help me but lets say I hire an assistant – OH yes one of the best things to do for your business is to hire an assistant. You run the business and they RUN the business. Now the assistant can take your SSP and run that component of your business.

Here is my SSP for Social Media Marketing –

1. Check email – for comments on your blogs and emails from customers/clients/prospective clients
2. Check Twitter – Say hello/good morning and what ever is on the agenda today or on your mind, then respond to @’s and reTweet what is interesting to you
3. Check other people’s blogs that are in your niche for new posts – make comments and possibly tweet about them and if it is really good, give some social marketing love (Post all over the social websites)
4.Check Google Alerts for your keywords – quickly read what is interesting – make comments, tweet and if it is good give some social marketing love.
5. Check Digg, Stumble Upon, and YouTube for 5 min – popular and new stories/videos
6. Check Facebook and LinkedIn- quickly go through notifications and requests and make a status change
7. Go to the forums in your niche – answer questions and make comments.

This whole process should take only 30 minutes, if you spend more time than that you are wasting time not working your time. If you do it everyday, it will keep your social marketing aspect of your business healthy. I usually do this whole process twice a day with the exception of the Google Alerts as I have them set for once a day. I will waste time AFTER the process is complete, but I make sure the entire SSP is completed before going back and playing games and watching those hilarious popular videos on YouTube OR to stay on track the next step is to write blog posts SSP for blog posts coming soon!

List of Directories

Submitting your site to directories can be time consuming process especially when trying to find directories that fit with your website subject. Well I have taken some of the time consuming process away by sorting some of the more popular submission directories into categories.

Some of these directories do require payment, but if it is in your specific niche it may be worth it. If you have another directory not found in the list please send it my way and we will add it.

Here is the list of directories -

DLGuard – Protecting Selling

Spam has got to be the worst thing on the internet, however there is one thing that is almost as bad and that is giving away someone’s download link! There are a lot of solutions to this problem however I believe the best solution is DLGuard.

DLGuard stops would be thieves from passing out the download link to the products you are selling. For example if you have an ebook that you are selling, how are you going to distribute it? Well usually a download link is provide after payment is received. What is to stop someone from taking that download link and passing it out to all of his friends and maybe not even his friends but everyone on his email list? The answer – Nothing, unless you think you can change your download link manually on a very regular basis. DLGuard prevents this by automatically giving your download link a time limit.

The software has many other functions including a built-in shoppingcart,  membership site capabilities, and a seamless operation with the major payment systems such as Paypal. Definitely worth a look and a purchase if you are going to be selling anything online.  Click on DLGuard to check it out, do it right now while you are thinking about it.

Web 2.0 Tool: Testing Out Trackboost

I just purchased Jack Humphrey’s Trackboost (http://www.trackboost.com) Notice I placed the link in this format to show you that I am not promoting an affiliate with this product. It is that good of a product that I do not need an affiliate link to promote it. I have used it a couple of times on my blogs with great results in only a few minutes.

It is a tool in which it will actually go out and search other blogs in your niche (keywords) and will allow you to trackback to those blogs whose posts match a post that is on your blog of the same topic. It is not a blackhat tool but rather a true Web 2.0 tool in which it will help you as a blogger connect and converse with other bloggers in your same areas of interest. It is fantastic it saves a ton of time because you just type in keywords and it does the Google Blog search for you and makes a clean list for you to just click through. There are several other features with it but I would suggest checking out his video on it at http://www.trackboost.com

Here is an example of Trackboost in action. This took less than 2 minutes to find and less than 5 minutes to get up on my blog in proper format -
